Palermo: Incompiuto Summer School - 1° edizione

For Manifesta Biennial, Fosbury Architecture together with Alterazioni Video, organizes a study and design workshop dedicated to unfinished public works in Italy.

The project is an official collateral event of Manifesta, together with a photographic exhibition by Alterazioni Video and the launch of the publication:
INCOMPIUTO - The Birth of a Style.

The aim of INCOMPIUTO Summer School will be to define an intervention protocol for this artifacts. The projects by the participants will be delivered to the city of Palermo as a stimulus and contribution for the analysis of these architectural objects.

Who can take part? 

INCOMPIUTO Workshop is open to students as well as professionals worldwide


The tuition languages will be English and Italian


Participants should bring their own lap-top computers. WLAN is freely available. Please ensure that all your own equipment is covered by your insurance.


200€ to be paid by bank transfer

Ticket includes

A weeklong workshop, 7 lectures and 1 final critic from the guest architects.
A field trip, one aperitivo and a goodbye party.
An INCOMPIUTO surprise package inside a totebag and a printed copy of the workshop booklet.

Ticket does not include

Travel expenses, accommodation, local transportation, meals other than aperitivo at ZISA, and extra studio material.

Field Trip

The field trip is organized in the first day of the workshop in order to provide a direct experience of an unfinished public building for all the participants. The trip will include a visit to the most interesting unfinished case studies on the island:

. Viaduct, Porto Empedocle
